Community news: A new trial reviewer

Post by Meph »

Community news
A new trial reviewer
Trial reviews have been delayed quite a bit, recently, because me and Hodou Okappa have been busy with other things, and we've sometimes been using our free time to go on new games that we've bought (or at least, I have). :P That's why I have a very exciting announcement to make.

ShadowEdgeworth is now a quality assurance reviewer! Congratulations!

If you've been visiting these forms for a while now, then you've definitely heard of his trial series: "Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney". Why am I so confident that you have heard of it? Not only is it a featured trial, but it's it's the most popular trial on AAO! Or at least, it seems to be, as his trial's showcase has the largest post count and views! And the reason why it's popular is not because it's hyped so much that you're ripping your hair out in annoyance; it's because of it's genuinely high quality. So evidently, ShadowEdgeworth gets it right when it comes to writing trials. Like Hodou, he understands what makes a trial good and what makes it great.

If you're wondering why I said that he is a "quality assurance reviewer", it's not because he's a different type of reviewer. I recently changed the wording to better reflect what reviewers actually do: assess quality, not state opinions.

On a side note, when the idea of having a new QA reviewer was raised, BBblader suggested that Shadow should be the one to take on the role (he said this after I had secretly chosen Shadow anyway). I think that shows just how much support Shadow has. I'm sure he will do a great job!

So let's congratulate Shadow!

Trial news
Congraulations should also go to our Art forum moderator, Tap, who has finally completed Episode 1 of his trial series: "Justice's Memoirs". The trial uses many custom sprites that reflect Tap's talent in image editing. It's been a long wait, and it was worth waiting for. Play it when you get the chance.

Tap's trial isn't the only one that's been released recently. E.D.Revolution has released Episode 2 of "Mia Fey: Ace Spirit Attorney". Episode 1 didn't pass it's QA review, but that doesn't mean that the trial series isn't fun! It's worth playing, and shows that a trial doesn't have to be featured to be good.

There are no doubt many other trials that I've missed out, so please tell me if there are any other trials worth a mention.

Aww Meph. Thanks for the accolades for my trial. But you've got one thing mixed up... I released Case 1 "The Tortured Turnabout" in the first week of August. I recently released Case 2 "Turnabout!: The Ace Attorney's Favorite Quiz Show," though the status of the trial is incomplete right now.

And if I didn't say it enough to ShadowEdgey, Congrats on your becoming another QA reviewer.

It's not just blue, it is bold blue. Then again, a custom title isn't that bad either.

Question: I noticed in the Trials section, ShadowEdgeworth is listed as a moderator. Do QA reviewers have moderating powers?

I'm thinking so. Okappa was a moderator for that section before too, right?
