I forgot exactly where, but yeah, it was the doctor that said both messages. He also gave me two autopsy reports. Oh, wait, Larry isn't dead. Just reports then.

For the not shown characters, I am talking of the main place menu and the talk subject menu, well, all the investigation mode stuff.

And, no I did not try the shortcuts or the save system, I just played it from the start.

Hey guys, I made a Larry sprite. I'll do some cleaning up.

Larry doesn't have a lotta emotions in his santa suit and I needed some for my trial :p

ImageImage

Hopefully I'll get some help from a few sprite makers on this site for the other things I need :p I'll make some too tho.

Also I fixed that disappearing thing Henke, thanks. :p

Progress is good! I'm almost done with the 1st investigation phase, then its on to court!

My 2nd edited sprite and I think this one came out a lot better especially considering the first one was just a head with very few parts and this one was some overlapping, 3 frames for talking and lots of movement going on. :) This one I used ONLY fireworks instead of fireworks with photoshop. It was a lot better this time, fireworks handles pixels for sprite editing a lot better than photoshop does.

What do you think? Its a more innocent getting angry pose for this character. :)

Photoshop does do it fine, but you need to uncheck "Antialias" at the top.

I just use paint, simplicity itself. With the occasional gimp bit.

And it's great! Something a little less insane for Ini

The last sprite seems to have some alignment issues with the head, it moves around during the animation.

I think it's meant to do that.

Same. Seriously, Henke. Do you criticize to make yourself feel better about yourself?

LOL henke,

Its called her mouth is open, observe how your head moves when you mouth opens all the way and you'll see it too, haha. It'll look much worse if its only her Jaw plus take 2 times the time for something that doesn't look as good. This isn't casual talking, shes totally freaking out as you can see :p

I can see what you mean as the original doesnt move its head, but I still think its more than acceptable and actually looks good. I don't mind you pointing out the observation though.
Yay I got consensus that it looks fine! :)

There actually IS a problem with it but if you guys don't notice it then I think it passes! hehe.

Took me a moment, but I think I found it. You're talking about the upper part of the symbol on her shirt, right?

Of course not. Let's just drop the subject before it hijacks yet another topic. Besides, arguing about my behavior has gotten old.

Yeah thats one of the lil glitches, I could go back and fix it but it could be considered Z asis movement for some of her shirt movement, so I think its forgivable. In any case I'm happy with it. :p

As for progress I'm nearly done with the 1st investigation. Just finished the detention center scene with the client and now I'm just tieing up some loose ends. I'm gonna make it so it checks if you have all the needed evidence before letting you go on. I just saw how to do that and tested it now, lastly I want to change up the crime scene a bit to make it a lil more flashy. :p

I still need someone to help me with sprite work since I have quite a lot more left to do @_@

more info on it here.

New sprite made and I learned a lot of things about the sprites. Now if I wanted to make Dhalia with her transparent shawl I know how to turn it transparent and probably partially transparent to dynamically be read by the program. It wont transfer as a reg gif or if you view the file. But when its in the game, it'll be transparent correctly. Cool stuff.

Whats NOT cool is that I learned this by making 20 versions of my helmet-less Diego. :/ (please tell me if someone else has done one and you'll save me a lot of time. If not, looks like this is something a lot of people are gonna wanna use :) Yeah. When I was making him, his cup was ALWAYS partially invisible. Then I found out its a feature of Fireworks to do that. Its also good for getting rid of Jagy. So now even if I cut like a 3rd grader around the edges, it wont show up in the game! :p

Can't think of anything else other than Dahlia's shawl that uses transparency so I'm probably not going to need to use this new-found skill :/
Image

Well, at least I found a way to change his color easily. I can probably crank out all the other ones pretty fast now :) And I'm learning how to get rid of those lil crazy gimp pixels as randomgibberish puts it, lol

Lol, My purposefully mispelt name of confusion.
And .gif doesn't support semi-transparency, so I have no idea why it shows well in game >_>
