That is all the proof you need that you should stop while you still can--

Points for theme relevance, though.

Well, after dealing with the not-inconsiderable panic of thinking I'd be up against Blackrune in a convoluted crimes comp, I think I can hypeshot.

Clearly, we have different philosophies on locked rooms.

I'm much more interested in the choice of a name for the co-counsel.

It's from Hamlet; Laertes is the rival to Scotland's throne.
(I actually came up with that name for something entirely different, but I scrapped that idea and the name sounded nice. We have protagonists named Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena, so it didn't seem too out of place.)

There is a very good reason for that.
Spoiler : :
The name Laertes predates Shakespeare and belongs to a character in the Greek epic The Odyssey. The goddess Athena is a prominent character in the poem and briefly interacts with Laertes in it.

True; It's just that his full name (Laertes Antony) is meant to reference Hamlet and Julius Caesar. I read those first.

I'm loving all these hypeshots.

I suppose the locked rooms were to be expected. I'm now beginning to wonder just what level of mental torture I've brought upon myself...

Just remember - a single case may have more than one locked room.

Well...to be fair, the locked room isn't the main problem in ours. It's a problem, but there are bigger ones.

...Well, Gizmo, you asked how much torture you brought on yourself. I think that's a good answer.

At the very least, I'm no longer afraid about going to hell when I die.
