Robert Civil: Ace Attorney Sprite Comic {HIATUS 16/07/16}

Post by DefenceLawyer »

Hello fellow Ace Attorney fans! :larry:

In June, I revisited the Ace Attorney games and immediately recalled my younger-years when I created a sprite comic over on Court Records. I figured that it was about time that I attempted a whole new comic, following the adventures of Robert Civil: a prim and proper Ace Attorney and his young intern Rachel Rushton.

If you are just a guest on this site, then I urge you to join. It is a great place to be. For those of you who wish to make your own sprite comic, then comment here or PM me and I will send my resources to you! I encourage you all to try and make your own sprite comic. After all, it is a fun form of expression that has died down over the past few years.

To celebrate the great reception this comic has had, there is currently a spin-off of it in the same section as this comic. It is set four years in this comic's future and shows Rachel's college years. Please check it out here, as it lets me develop her character in ways I cannot in this form.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Enjoy the first episode! I do have plans for future cases, but whether that happens or not depends solely on the first case's reception in the comments section, so criticise, compliment and comment below, folks!

Fanarts:
Hesseldahl's Brilliant Reinvented Rachel Sprite
Spoiler : Thank You To These People :
Special thanks to SuperAJ for making the two pieces of evidence in Case 1 Scene 23. Thanks to Greeny's Tools: random bits and bobs of which I will most likely use a lot throughout this comic. Thanks to Lind for bringing us that great Kristoph Gavin sprite comic: that comic is one of the main reasons why Robert Civil was born. Thanks to Hesseldahl and SuperAJ3 for their assistance with the prosecutor sprite. Also, the mic stand in the intro of case 3 belongs to Skeledude12. He hasn't logged in for a while, but should he ever disagree with its use, I will replace it. Thanks to FenrirDarkWolf for the map which he made for Case 3 Scene 19.
Disclaimer: I (often heavily) edit each and every action-image which appears in this comic, but I do not own any of them. They are used for entertainment purposes only. Credit goes to the creators of the original images.

All the best, people.

Do you think there's a way to link to an album or something to make viewing easier? This format will probably make the comic a lot more difficult to read as it gets longer.

I think that'll have to be one of those "cross that bridge when I come to it" kind of deals :phoenix:
Will see what I can do.

I'd love to see this done in the Trial editor! It's quite a funny and good read. Very Well done.

I dabbled in the PyWright editor five years ago (I think that's what its called) but I wouldn't have a clue with any of it now.

Why not use this site's editor? It's pretty straight forward and easy to get the hang of. Especially if it's all just text and no mechanics like cross examinations etc. Either way the comic form works just fine! And it's easier to do daily updates this way.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I think that this sprite comic form is something which needs to be brought back, so will probably stick with it this way for now.
