I'm not ruling out the possibility of buying it myself (though I would have to beat XIII-2 first), but maaaaaan they really do not give a single crap about any form of artistic integrity any more. They don't even care about HIDING it.

The promotional material used for this particular "feature" seems to put Lightning in a pose that just seems OOC of her.

So...Now she's an objectified chica that's no longer a "strong" female character because of this...?

...All this to compete with Skyrim...LOL

I better start planning my replay of both FFXIII and XII-2. Considering how long it took me for XIII the first time around... :XD:

I guess because they're trying to compete with one of the highest rated games out there?

...there were a lot of much better examples than Skyrim to use for this particular situation, because he's implying that over-sexualization of Lightning is somehow a ploy to compete with Skyrim. Skyrim isn't even the best-selling game in recent memory. Nor did it use any form of sexualization to achieve sales...

He seems excited about the jiggling.

One of the top heads working on the game said the goal for this game was to "defeat" Skyrim (there's a kotaku article/interview about this). It started back when they took *6 months* resources to work on the new Lightning Returns logo...which happens to look similar to Skyrim :P

Except Skyrim's logo was an actual icon from the series. This one is dumb and nonsensical.
Also known as: okappa, houdou.

Agreed, most commentators shared your sentiment. Transformers already had similar with 4's logo (the Michael Bay movie), and Terminator Salvation already had similar fonts.

The fact they wasted actual dev time on this for 6 months was just precious resources wasted. You'd think the stylized artwork they've had since the first FF was enough to make the brand recognizable and valuable.

...how can a logo take six months

Ask Squeenix. The priortization of the process over this relateively minor thing makes no sense.

Logo's are at max 3 months to come up with (assuming a well-planned process has gone down with the team communicating to the artists involved).

Actually making a professional logo requires some damn good knowledge of geometry and circles though. It's crazy.
