Clean that mirror! It's filthy.
This is the Member of the Month; an interview that I do at the end of each month. It's a fun way of finding out about respected members of the community.

I personally select each month's Member of the Month. People are picked based on their contributions to the community, whether they are: making excellent trials, providing comic relief or just being a brilliant person. The next Member of the Month could be you!

If you have any questions about the Member of the Month system, please PM me.
* * * * *
When I mentioned that the restriction of staff being Member of the Month had been revoked, everyone assumed that either Danielinhoni or Tap were the next one. However, what amazed me was that everyone then thought that it was a trick to make you all think that a staff member was the next MotM (even though it was true). But it was a double trick! Mwa ha ha! So yes, Daniel is the next Member of the Month. I felt it was very much deserved due to his talents and contributions that he has done for our community.
* * * * *
Meph: Hello, welcome to the fifth Member of the Month interview.

Danielinhoni: Thanks a lot for chosing me Meph, glad to be here. :)

Meph: How did you find AAO, and what made you want to join?

Danielinhoni: Oh, it was some days after I discovered AA. I was like "Is there some way to create your own trials?". And I couldn't make it with the editors that were already there. I searched in Google "Online Ace Attorney Trial Maker" and... found AAO! :) I felt really lucky.

Meph: You have been the moderator of the Spanish section for what feels like many years now. Could you tell us how this happened?

Danielinhoni: Well, when I first came to the forums, there was already a moderator... But he wasn't very active. They changed the moderator to another one like... in February. But he didn't last long. And, in his "Grand Exit" thread as he says, everyone said they wanted me to be the next moderator.

Meph: So you're here in green by popular demand?

Danielinhoni: Well, not only that. Unas told me he already had me in mind. Because... you know... I was, as people say, a "nice user", since the first time I came to the forums.
No bad records for me. I feel like a Von Karma.

Meph: Are people pleased with your work in the spanish section?

Danielinhoni: Well, when I have work to do, yes. They are pleased with it. But you know... I try to be an user like the others. I try not to act differently as if I hadn't been promoted. That makes me be nearer the users, despite being a moderator. :)

Meph: Were there any changes that you made when you became a mod?

Danielinhoni: Oh, yes, a lot. The spanish section was very "messy". The rules weren't up to date, a lot of featured trials didn't deserve to be in that list.... I think the biggest, biggest change I made in the spanish section, was remake the featured trial list.

Meph: Which is something that I need to do as well. :P

Danielinhoni: Lol. I also created new rules that were missing, like GC rules, and a new kind of documentation, with pictures, for v5 (which isn't finished yet).

Meph: Let's talk about your trials. You've made ones that are heavily based on AAI, and you even make a trials with the mini-sprites, like in Turnabout Airport. Could you tell us about that?

Danielinhoni: Oh, of course. Well, my inspiration on that was that I wanted to be... innovating. And that lead me onto making AAI trials. :) But, you know, even if you have every idea in mind, everything that you need, there is the spriting. And that is the most difficult part in the trials I make. So difficult, I had to cancel my trial because of that, sadly.... Everything you need is some ideas, basic spriting knowledge, and to really want to make it. :)

Meph: Do you make many trials?

Danielinhoni: Well, I only made three serious trials that were cancelled, and one hadn't even its first part released! But... yes. I have a lot of trials, which are tests and new systems I try to implement into the editor. Anyway, I'm planning something. And no one will know about it until it's finished.... :)

Meph: Do a lot of your trials use your own custom sprites and audio?

Danielinhoni: Actually, yes. A lot of my trials do. I would say like... 70% of them. And that's a lot, counting the number of trials I have.... But, as you know, the one that uses the most of my custom content is Turnabout Airport.

Meph: Would you say that you're quite talented at working with medias, like images and audio?

Danielinhoni: Well, from what my friends from the Spanish section (and some from the English section) say, I would say that... yes, I am. I showed some of my music to some users, and they said they were quite good. But I don't like trying myself. :P

Meph: Time for some personal questions! What was your childhood like?

Danielinhoni: First I am going to say that my childhood is what made me do what I do now. You know, besides the usual things kids do... My father had a computer, and he wanted me to be up to date with those things since being young. So... I was on the computer every day. Of course, not as much as now. I mean, I had like 2 or 3 hours of video games per day. And when I wasn't with the computer, I was watching some Disney movie. I really loved those being young.

Meph: I used to love Disney as a kid, too. I still do!

Danielinhoni: Yes, I guess everyone did as a kid. But they don't make good movies like they did before.

Meph: What did you think of their most recent film, The Princess and the Frog (if you've seen it :P)?

Danielinhoni: Well, I didn't watch it.

Meph: I didn't think so. :P

Danielinhoni: But I watched a great movie one week ago. You know "Despicable Me"?

Meph: Oh yes?

Danielinhoni: It was great. Good humor, great quality, nice story... I recommend it to almost everyone, if you want to have some laughs at the cinema.

Meph: What is your average day like?

Danielinhoni: Oh. Well... I go to the school (without having breakfast), get bored, go back home and stick to the computer. Oh, and at midnight, I play on the PS3. :) Kind of a geek life, wouldn't you say? And of course, the first thing I check on the computer are the AAO forums.

Meph: I was thinking that it was more of a "unhealthy" lifesyle than a geeky one. :P Are you sure it's a good idea to be on the PS3 at such a late time?

Danielinhoni: Well, you know, I'm not really... "Normal".
I mean, I don't need at least 8 hours of sleep.
I need at least 3 or 4.
But of course, that doesn't mean I'm sticking with the PS3 until 5:00

Meph: I have a "friend" who plays on Call of Duty on his PS3 at midnight, but he's not a geek; he's a freak (not that I'm implying that you are)!

Danielinhoni: Agh, please, don't say the name of that game in front of me. Really, I hate it. But, after all, I'm not that different than that friend of yours. I mean, it's not normal to sit in front of the PS3 at midnight. :P Except if it's for a great game.

Meph: I completely agree with you that CoD is a rubbish game, though (but we can discuss that in detail later).

Danielinhoni: Yay! Someone that agrees! But yes, you're right, we can talk about that later.

Meph: And you are very different to my "friend", believe me. *shivers in disgust*

Danielinhoni: Oh. Then if you insist, that means I should hope to be different from him. :P

Meph: What are your plans for the future?

Danielinhoni: Well, I have planned everything on my life already. I want to study something related to informatic, in Germany. Then I would be able to work at Switzerland (you know, where you get paid more than enough :P). And make my own stuff, like programs and everything... Oh, and buy everything in France! Don't buy in Switzerland, everything is so expensive...

Meph: Really? :P

Danielinhoni: Yes. Trust me!

Meph: It sounds expensive...!

Danielinhoni: And it is! I mean, I feel like people in Switzerland are being scammed! It's like... 10% more expensive.

Meph: They earn a lot because they get paid a lot. It's inflation.

Danielinhoni: And that's why I'm going to live in the frontier between Switzerland and France. In Geneva. I'll get paid a lot, and I will pay a little bit.

Meph: Well I can't argue with that!

Danielinhoni: No one can! :P

Meph: Where do you usually go on holiday?

Danielinhoni: France, right in the frontier with Switzerland; that's where my father lives. But I don't go to special places like islands or Italy, no, simply because holidays are the only way I can see my father. :)

Meph: Would you mind if I asked what situation you are in with your parents? Have they divorced or does your father go abroad to work?

Danielinhoni: Oh, they are divorced. But it doesn't really affect me. I'm mature enough to get over it. :) That doesn't mean I ignore it, though.

Meph: What is your favourite Ace Attorney game?

Danielinhoni: Ace Attorney Investigations. (Please AAO, don't kill me!)

Meph: I thought so. :P

Danielinhoni: I like the fact that it's very innovative, and it brings a lot of new features. Because, you know, I'm the guy that likes innovating. And also, the story was great, the characters, the sprites... everything. But... it was a little bit easy, though. I finished it, like, in one day. But, still, I loved it. I think that it's the only Ace Attorney game that have the cases connected logically. I mean that each case has something to do with every other case. Not like 1-3, or 2-3, which looked like they were only there to fill a gap in the game.

Meph: What is your impression of Gyakuten Kenji 2?

Danielinhoni: I was like "WOW AWESOME, MORE NEW SYSTEMS AND MUSICS!!!". I was extremely happy knowing there would be a sequel to AAI, that would be even more awesome than the first AAI. :) And I love its music; I feel I'm gonna enjoy listening to its OST.

Meph: You were telling me that you had a theory on how the chess system works?

Danielinhoni: Oh, yes; which ended up to be totally wrong! :P I thought it would something like Logic, but with chess pieces. You know, instead of relating elements that have something to do, relate two pieces (one yours one from the witness) which are contradictory. And use evidence so you can destroy that piece. But it ended up being something rebuttal related. I even tried to implement the first theory I had in the Trial Editor. It didn't turn out well, because of the Trial Player's GIFs playing problems. But yes, I was very convinced about it.

Meph: What other games do you really like?

Danielinhoni: Oh, I'm really addicted to the 2009 game of the year: "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves". That's what I play everyday at midnight. :D It's really a great game. I recommend it to everyone that has a PS3. A must have. And until a year ago, I was really fond of Tomb Raider. A really great saga. But... Each game turned out to be worse since 2006. And... I never saw Lara's face again. Mmhh... But yes, I insist with Uncharted 2 being the best game ever made.

Meph: What was the first video game you ever played?

Danielinhoni: Okay, here goes! No one in this forum may know it: "Harry the Handsome Executive". It was a Mac game from 1994 or something like that. And each day of my childhood I played it. An awesome game. Google it if you don't know what it is. ;)

Meph: A Mac, eh?

Danielinhoni: Yes. That's where all my old-school gaming was stored in. It was very old, but not disapointing. :D My father has always been more from Mac than from Windows. That's why all my games were there, in a Mac. (Well, demos. :P)

Meph: Last question, now. Do you have any other interests?

Danielinhoni: Yes, I play drums, and a little bit of piano. But not too much.
And... just to clarify, it's a shame, but I don't read, just in case you were expecting it. :P

Meph: Before we end, do you have anything else you'd like to say?

Danielinhoni: Keep it up AAO, you're doing great! Unless you want me to take over you with my army of n00bs :P.

Meph: Thanks for this very interesting interview, Daniel. :)

Danielinhoni: Well, thank you for chosing me. Well, I think no one suspected about the bias removal :XD: I mean, they didn't expect me to be the MotM!

Well, I have to say that this was quite the shock, Meph! Now I know what you meant when we were communicating via PM... ;)

Congratulations, Dan for being chosen as October's MoTM! 'Tis a prestigious title that will be subject of the dreaded speculation again soon. (Though I hope Meph has taken my spec. rules into consideration...) :XD:
I finished it, like, in one day.

You're exaggerating... right? :O

Under the assumption that saying staff members would be allowed would get people to think it'd be too obvious to be true, he therefore keeps everyone from suspecting them, therefore making it the most surprising outcome!

This is what those in the mafia gaming world call Wine In Front Of Me!
And Admiral Canuck said the theory was silly... :P

Had Mimi pegged the month before as well, due to the PM'ing thing. You guys should listen to me more. :awesome:

That aside, many congrats to you Daniel, a very deserving choice. :)

Your thirty Xanatos Pileup theory was silly. Meph implied that he didn't actually plan to trick us that way- therefore your theory is also wrong. I mean, mine was much worse, but... I admit nothing. Is it so wrong to try to guess unconventionally?

All the same... congrats, Dan. You deserve it, man.

I'm difficult to find on the forums these days, but if you do see me, I should be easy enough to talk to.
