gotMLK7 wrote:Two things. One, I really want to give a hand to the spriters here, this is probably the best batch of comp sprites I've ever seen. The sprites in this competition are ranging from good to fantastic, and I'm really loving all of the effort and creativity here. Nice job, everyone!

Second, I'd like to state that I'm actually going to be joining this competition myself, hopefully, and I'm rushing out a sprite set. Granted I'll need help getting the set animated due to technical limitations, but I'm working on getting poses and stuff down as quickly as I can, so I hope you look forward to that! I'm going for a detective that sorta has a Space Dandy/Lupin the Third/Spike Spiegel/JoJo/Elvis Presley/Inspector Cabanella thing going on. Here's a sneak peak of the sprite with the .png of the base pose. He'll hopefully be ready by the time the weekend ends.

So yeah, good luck and good job, everyone!

Wow I can only guess which character you are referring to

Because right now it is exactly the same as the Bellboy's primary hair shade. So, when you see it, you don't see an original character's hair. You see the Bellboy's. This is a big no-no for making frankensprites look original.

It doesn't even need to be a different colour. Just a different shade. Hell, you could replace that greying shade with an inbetween shade of brown. You could try any number of things!

Hum... ok ! Yes, It's true, I will change that now !

Anyway, thank you again for all of these advices ! ^^

So wait, is there going to be a vote for which sprite wins?

Presumably yes, that tends to be how these contests go.

That would normally be the case, except this is not your average art competition. This is for having your sprites added to the Editor. Unas may not use this method based on the criteria he has used for the Case Comp. Since the winning sprites are going to be put in the editor, this is likely an Editorial decision on his part, which could support forgoing the traditional voting method.

Technically, it isn't a sprite, so it won't work as part of the comp, but it'd be great to have around for box art and the like.

Just a heads up. You're getting some weird white ghosting in some of your sprites.

The third row of sprites. When she moves her arms, I can see white behind where her arm used to be.
