Re: ☆ Trial: Equation for a Turnabout

Is there a better name for the club than "Day by Day"?
Spoiler : case :
Half of the name puns in the case REVOLVE around the title, plus the whole point of it is to not attract attention from teachers...a group of students gather around after class in some club called "Day by Day" really sounds like nothing to get your pants in a bunch over, you know? Using "blackmail" in a different language is already suspicious enough (just in case one fluent in the language happens to stumble upon the club), but when you factor in the presence of one Thomas Q. Harrow, who knows like, 20 different languages: It's just BEGGING to get turned in to the authorities.
If you're not reading for spoiler issues, just know that the club being named anything BUT "Day by Day" causes several issues with the structure of the case, clashes with the recurring name puns, and would almost certainly arouse the suspicion of a certain character in the case. In short,
Spoiler : spoilers, but Meph's far enough to know :
it's called "Day by Day" because it sounds like an innocent silly little after-school club of people fooling around with computers: And that's the exact impression it's members want you to think, or what YOU want people to think if you're fronting an organized crime racket.

Yeeeeeah, I was gonna bring that up, but I figured I'd wait until the review was finished. But thank you, BBblader. You're absolutely right. But of course, if it's really a huge issue I could work around it, it would just cause some pretty drastic changes to the case.

Well, basically it's like BB said. There's a reason for the name of the club, but I could definitely find a way to change it. Also, I was told to change the ringtone in part one to the Samurai theme because that's the ringtone Phoenix uses, but it's actually Franziska's phone that's ringing, not Phoenix's.

If it's Franziska's then I suppose that's fine as well. :)

QA review
Chapter 3
  • The green location dialogue is structured incorrectly. It should be "Date, Time (new line) Place" :)
  • Blue text seems to appear instantly. Fix that.
  • Try to find a custom background for the Prosecutors' Offices Questioning Room. :)
  • Let's have a few sound effects when they're discussing Kristoph with Franziska.
  • Speaking of which, why isn't Kristoph's profile in the Court Record?
  • You don't get penalised in investigations -- only in court.
  • It's a great portrayal of a future Franziska. :D
  • I should be able to move to the Detention Centre from the Wright Anything Agency as well.
  • When Trucy says "What?! Really, Apollo? That's news to me!" she appears behind the detection centre wall, when she should be in front.
  • After Rose says "Ask me anything you like." there is a black frame. Delete it or add a timer.
  • Use sound effects when Mort screams.
  • Make sure you use the series link.

I put all parts of the trial in a series, so it should be working. Is it not? I wonder why? Did I do it wrong? :sideglance2:

You must have forgotten to set the parameter to "Go to: Next part of the series". I'll fix it for you. :)

Yeah, you gotta put in the very last frame of a trial the "Go to: Next part of the series" action. Just don't do it in a game over frame.

Which reminds me, Meph, can you PM me how to do the game over things?

Oh, I've just noticed this: this and your two other cases are part of the same series. Are they episodes, or just separate sequels? If they're the former, you need to put them in the same topic.

They are different cases in a whole game like a real Ace Attorney video game. Turnabout at Sea is the equivalent of The First Turnabout, Equation for a Turnabout is Turnabout Sisters, and so on and so forth.
