9/11 10 Years Later

Post by Gav »

9 years and 363 days ago, the World Trade Center fell due to a devestating terrorist attack which also hit the Pentagon and a random field. 4 months and 7 days ago, the leader of this attack, Osama bin Laden, was killed. Now, we come to the tenth anniversary of the tragedy. How will YOU show your opinion?

It wasn't a 'random field'. It was a field, and it crashed there because some passengers thwarted the terrorists' plan.

It appears I was misinformed. Thank you, America.

Opinion? Opinion on what? The fact so many innocents died? The fact it brought about incredibly strict airplane security? Anything besides that will turn into something I can only think is against site rules.

9/11 was a horrid day, and continues to be a horrid day. It's always gonna be a horrid day in everyone's minds. To think it's been 10 years is quite shocking really. I can still remember my first moment of silence at school on 9/12.

As for showing your "opinion"... I'll be doing what I always do. Carry on the kind of life most victim's would like to see. A life of freedom, happiness, and remembrance.

I ignore it now. No sense dwelling on the past.

When it happened, I reacted much like everyone else.

*366. Considering that post was made on the 10th, and that we've had two leap years since the incident...

I heard there had been a recording of a passenger saying 'You ready? Let's roll!', who then proceeded to seize control from the terrorists. Man that's badass, doing something like that in your final moments...

I still remember 9/11 even though I don't have any connection to USA whatsoever (except some of my far relatives moved there during the oppression a century ago) and I was 7 at the time it happened. Still, my reaction back then was more like "wow, that looks so cool" than sad. I was a kid after all~
Here is Finnish news from that time~ http://areena.yle.fi/video/358743 (whoa, the newscaster is actually stuttering)
Not that you were able to understand the language but it might interest you anyways~ At least I like watching one news from as many angles as possible~

You wouldn't think it was ten years since it happened. I was very young when it did, so I didn't really know what to think. Today, however, every time I see the second plane hit the second tower, it's almost unbearable.

But I love the new memorial. It's very fitting and has great symbolic messages woven into it. And the new world trade centre looks magnificent.

It's also quite fitting that the anniversary should be on a Sunday: a day of rebirth.

Those towers of light that were made at the site were a wonderful tribute to the people that passed away. It had a very positive message.

Ugh, I noticed 9-11 is my join date in AAO (Joined exactly 2 years ago) :?
I kinda think like Hodou, but I understand the families of the victims.
