Let's Talk About Music!

Music is an art! Share it with the world! These sentences are corny!

Ahem. This is the place to share your thoughts on music! You can discuss anything to do with it, but your own compositions go in the YA forum.

Each Monday, I will put up a discussion topic. If everyone cooperates, at the end of 2 months we will have a general idea of the members' musical ability.
The first discussion is...
Do you play an instrument? If so, what do you play and for what time have you been playing it? This goes for instruments that you quit, or ones you plan to take lessons on in the future.

Well, I play piano. I'm not especially good at it though. Just beginner. However, I am working into the intermediate material now. So, yeah. Making progress. :P

Used to play the violin back in middle school but I eventually quit.

Oh, yeah... I used to play the violin too in my school orchestra. I was never any good, so I just quit.

I tried to learn piano for maybe a week when I was like 6 before I gave up because I wasn't willing to put any effort into it. Other than that I have absolutely no experience with musical instruments or similar fields. I'm a listener as far as music is concerned, not a performer :P

I used to play guitar, but I pawned mine for gas money ages ago.

I goof around with keyboards, but I'm not good.

When I was in kindergarden my mother hired me a tutor to do piano. I hated it, he made me do homework. (I mean who does homework for piano? Aside from just practice?) Anyway i remember that I quit when I got to primary school. Then when I was in 5th grade I started doing trumpet lessons at my school but I always forgot to bring my trumpet to school so I would never really get the time to practice.

But 1 Christam I got....A HARMONICA! Bet instrament I love so far :D

Homework with Piano, while sometimes unheard of, is normally a major part of learning to play.
