Unlike traditional magi, modern magi who use this kind of magic activate their sorcery through modern technology such as cell phones linking to servers that can access the spiritual plane instead of using grimoires. And apparently certain hard spells that are learnt using modern magic are easier to master, namely those ones that are already on the phone. They include hacking into another user's magic server, making firewalls to protect one's
own magic server, etc.
